Chairmen of Local Government Councils in Ogun State have been enjoined to complement the developmental efforts of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led-administration in the State through efficient service delivery at the grassroot. Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo gave the advice during the committee’s visit to Yewa South, Ipokia, Ewekoro, Ifo and Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Council Areas in continuation of its budget performance monitoring to Local Government Councils in the State. Hon. Oluomo said the Chairmen should replicate the transformation strides of the State Governments in their respective local government areas to enable people at the grassroot also enjoy democratic dividends. Requesting the management of the councils to ensure effective and efficient redistribution of their workforce to attract more revenue, Hon. Oluomo noted that such commercial undertakings would go a long way in assisting the councils to meet their financial obligations. Responding, the council Chairmen noted that their councils through special grants given them by the State Government had embarked on projects capable of enhancing living standards The Chairmen including Mr. Oludele Soluade of Ewekoro, Chief Oluwole Enilolobo of Ifo, Mr. Rotimi Rahman of Ado-Odo/Ota, Alhaji Safiu Odebiyi Yewa South and Mr. Isiak Aderounmu of Ipokia Local Government Areas respectively revealed that they had constructed Health Centres, embarked on road construction, agricultural, and rural electrification projects, provided health centres, infrastructure in public primary schools as well as empower their constituents. They also lauded Governor Amosun for his intervention which had prevented their administrations from grinding to a halt due to shortfalls in fund from the Federation purse.
The development agenda has been working effectively so we just hope it doesn't stop.
