Job Title: Laboratory Technician I (in vitro bank) – 2 year renewable contract

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position of Laboratory Technician I (in vitro bank) at the Institute's Headquarters, Ibadan.
Position/Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
• Monitoring of musa in vitro conservation
• Musa in vitro processing from sucker
• Musa in vitro plantlets acclimatization and post flask management
• In vitro genebank processing of all RTB, IITA mandate crops
• Subculturing of tissue culture plantlets
• Sorting of necrotic and contaminated TC plantlets
• Field sampling for in vitro plants introduction
• In vitro plants safe duplication assistant
• Plant culture media preparation
• Musa in vitro data monitoring
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
• OND In general Agric or Laboratory Technology or the equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant working experience in any Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory
