Post by: Mirror on Nov 03, 2013, 03:31 AM
Associated Airline, operators of the ill-fated plane that conveyed the remains of former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Agagu, which crashed in Lagos killing over 15 passengers, has promised to pay insurance benefits to families of the crash victims.

A reliable source from the airline told Sunday Mirror that Lloyd Insurance of London, collaborating with another insurance company in Nigeria has set in motion plans to disburse the insurance benefits to the bereaved families, on behalf of the airline.

According to our source, delegates from Lloyd Insurance, London, had already visited the bereaved families in Akure, Ondo State and Lagos. It was gathered that the families had been given letters directing them go to Associated Airline office where they would be acquainted with the full package of the insurance benefits to be given.

Sunday Mirror however learnt that the Okusanyas, a prominent Lagos family which lost an illustrious member, Tunji Okusanya, Boss of MIC undertakers, along with his son and four staff, have not received any such letter or compensation. "Nothing has been given to us.

I don't know about others o, but as far as my brothers and the staff that worked with him are concerned, nothing has been given to us," younger Toyin Okusanya, Tunji's sibling, said. Asked if he was aware that the samples of the remains of the crash victims were flown abroad for the DNA test and that could have been the reason for the delay in releasing the result?
