One of the major financiers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and oil magnet, Prince Arthur Eze and the party's candidate in the November 16, 2013 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Tony Nwoye yesterday urged members of the party to storm all the nooks and crannies of the state and ensure that PDP reclaims the state by delivering their polling units to the party.
Addressing stakeholders of the party at Marble Arch Hotel, Awka, the duo said though the time for campaign was short, members should move to their various wards to canvas for votes for the party's candidate Nwoye, assuring them that everything needed for the campaigns were already intact for them, saying any ward that delivered to the party would have a reward of N7 million.
Prince Eze told the stakeholders that he supported and stood behind the party candidate, Nwoye, because of the poor, the widows and the jobless youths in the state, as he was sure Nwoye would care for them if elected governor.
He went down memory lane on how governors had emerged in the state, and pointed out that by the grace of God he had been instrumental to the emergence of past governors including the incumbent, Mr. Peter Obi.
He said: "I am supporting this young man, Tony, because he has the passion for the masses, he is embittered about the state of affairs in the state where the poor are dying every day, the widows suffering and youths roaming the streets without job and where insecurity has become the order of the day.
"Our people are afraid to return home because people are kidnapped almost on daily basis and the governor is collect.
"I am worried for these young ones because for me, I am nearing my grave, all this money being acquired, one day, God will send cancer and that person will die.
"This state is PDP state and Mr. President, Goodluck Jonathan has promised us that the election will be free and fair. So, don't listen to those going about saying that they have arrangement with the Presidency, it is all lies, go and canvass votes for our party, money is not our problem, I know God will give us victory. Win your ward, get N5 million from me."
The party candidate, Nwoye, urged the party members to close ranks and pursue the election as a family, noting that why Obi and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had won in the past was because PDP people were fighting among themselves.
