...We will salvage Anambra together –Ezeemo

From EMMANUEL UZOR, Onitsha

Business activities came to halt at Onitsha yesterday as the candidate of the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA), Mr. Godwin Ezeemo stormed the commercial city on a mega campaign rally and presentation of his manifesto.

Ezeemo who spoke at the flag-off of his campaigns for the November 16, 2013 governorship election, said that he has relocated from London to the state in the past four years because of the love he has for the state and the people.

The PPA flag-bearer said that he can afford to reside in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu or return to London but he has decided to come back to his state, where he has set up a lot of businesses.

"I have lost everything for you (the people).  I am here for you, for our children.  I have been here for the past four years because of you.  I will be here to salvage Anambra state together with you", he said.

He further pledged that if elected as the governor of Anambra, he would transform the state with the provision of adequate and regular power supply and ensure security of lives and property which he said is key to the development of any state.

The PPA candidate further contended that constant power supply will encourage the growth of industries, which in turn will create employment opportunities for the people of Anambra, adding that his administration will invest in agriculture and agro-allied industries, create farm settlements at the Anambra North Senatorial zone, where his deputy hails from.

"I am begging you.  I am asking you don't allow anybody to deceive you.  I won't deceive you.  I cannot do that.  I will always tell you the truth", he said.

Earlier, the national chairman of PPA, Chief Sam Nkire said that they saw the qualities, dynamism in Ezeemo and that is why they decided to sink and swim with him but they will not sink.

He said that only a man like Ezeemo can bring the change Anambra state needs this time, stressing that one unique selling point of their party is that they have peace unlike many which have been in the court.

Nkire further hailed the combination of Ezeemo and his deputy, Dr. Ralph Chikwenze, saying there are people with character, who can transform the state and bring it back to the path of glory.
