Leaders of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend urged the recently constituted Reconciliation Committee to consult stakeholders so as to ensure smooth registration of members
The leaders said at a meeting of the newly constituted Ibadan City Forum of APC under the Chairmanship of Dr. Busari Adebisi held at Idikan that the party would soon embark on membership registration exercise across the state.
They promised to support the Reconciliation Committee immediately its starts work to foster unity among members of the party.
To promote mutual trust and understanding among members, the leaders underscored the need for party supporters to accommodate one another without any form of hatred and discrimination.
In a communiqué signed by Dr. Adebisi and Secretary of APC Ibadan City Forum, Mr. Abodunrin Hameed, the leaders hailed Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi's transformational agenda, praising him for investing in infrastructure across the state.
They, however, urged the governor not to be distracted by those they described as fifth columnists who see anything good in his administration.
The communiqué read in part: "That the unity of purpose must exist among the members of APC in Ibadan city, all members of the party must come together and be ready to sacrifice all what it takes to build the party in full readiness for the 2015 general elections .
"That the leaders and entire members of Ibadan City Forum of APC salute the courage of Governor Abiola Ajimobi for the ongoing restructuring of his executive council.
"We are stating it categorically that the leaders of Ibadan City Forum of APC are solidly behind the governor and praying to Almighty Allah to grant him enough wisdom to do it successfully and accordingly".
Meanwhile, a former Managing Director of the defunct Sketch Newspapers, Chief Sola Oyegbemi, at the weekend led scores of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party members in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State to join the ruling APC.
The defecting PDP and Accord Party members were received by Governor Ajimobi and APC Chairman in the state, Chief Akin Oke, at the popular Olomi Central Market, Ibadan.
Ajimobi, while receiving the new members, asked them to support APC for its success in future elections.
He also assured them of proper integration into the APC fold, with a promise that dividends of democracy would be extended to all and sundry.
This would really make a lot of great sense if they work hard at it. Good one
