Post by: emezico on Jun 19, 2011, 09:01 AM
l think the Oodua People's Congress (OPC) should settle their differences and work as a team. Working as factions, has made the group deviated from his origin concept of formation, in the south west.

Gone at the days, when the presence of OPC sent jitters down the spine of miscreants (thieves and armed robbers). Their activities curb the menace of Robbery in south west.

In what appeared to be an ignition of the rivalry over the affairs of the two faction of the Oodua People's Congress, (OPC) the national coordinator of the group, Otunba Gani Adams, has  taken a swipe at Chief Frederick Fasheun over his remarks on the organisation.

Adams said he was reacting to report credited to Fasheun that he was about to start the rebranding process of the organisation.

The OPC chief  described Fasheun's remark as an attempt to personalise OPC and to draw back the wheel of progress of his faction of OPC .

Adams told newsmen that "nine of us formed OPC , it will be wrong for  anybody to lay claim to the sole ownership of the organisation, while efforts to rebrand the organisation started a long time ago "

The OPC coordinator also condemned the attempt by Fasheun 's faction of OPC  to contract the procurement of identification cards for members to foreign contractors.

Adams stated that "even Lagos State government has not given its staff' identification card contract to foreign handlers despite the enormous financial resources available to it."

The OPC chief asserted  that his faction of OPC had, a long time ago, commenced the  rebranding exercise aimed at changing the public perception of the organisation as a gang of miscreants.
