We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Africa for a Material & Welding Engineer (F/M).
Mission: The Material and Welding Engineer will be acting as specialist within the SPS Engineering team and assisting the SPS Engineering Manager and sub-systems engineers for all technical matters related to SPS Material and welding activities (Material, fabrication, welding & NDE including XTree, Manifold, Connection Systems and Controls Systems (as applicable) piping, forgings, bends, tubing, structural elements, etc ...) performed by SPS, Contractor, Sub-Contractor and Vendors.
Activities:
• Reviewing all relevant Engineering / Qualification / Manufacturing / Fabrication / Testing documents throughout all project phases
• Attendance at Contract Kick-Off and Pre Production Meetings (PPM)
• Ensuring that any deviations to materials and welding issues are formalized with respective Company functional departments
• Attend / Witness / Approve Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Provide feedback on SPS Contractor and supply chain performance and designs, proposing changes to Project Specific Specifications (PPS) and /or Company General Specifications (GS) on welding / materials testing issues.
• Assisting in analysis of SPS Contractor technical queries and preparation of comments and proposed answers to these queries
• Ensuring that materials related, Engineering / Qualification / Manufacturing / Fabrication / Testing activities are performed in line with Contract requirement and Project Specifications,
