The European and International Cooperation Resident Representative for Nigeria, Mrs. Hildegard Behrendt–Kigozi has described the massive road construction going on in Ogun State as a catalyst for industrial growth and development. Mrs. Behrendt–Kigozi who spoke in Abeokuta shortly after a courtesy call on the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunle said the road construction would reduce man hour being lost to delay in traffic. She noted that such huge construction would naturally result in some challenges such as payment of compensations, displacement and other inherent constraints, but added that in the long run, residents and indeed the entire state would reap the benefits through influx of investment and improved economy. Describing the State as one of the most orderly in human and vehicular movements, the Resident Representative promised to collaborate with the Assembly on varying areas ranging from enhancing democratic legislature and rule of law amongst others. In his response, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adekunbi thanked Mrs. Behrendt– Kigozi for the visit, assuring that government was committed to creating an enabling environment for residents and investors in the State to live comfortably. He also affirmed that the development agenda of the Senator Amosun–led administration in the State would guarantee return in investment and create employment opportunities.
