Craig Thomson from Scotland has been selected to officiate the Final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup UAE 2013 between Nigeria and defending champions Mexico at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium, on Friday, 8 November at 20:00 (local time).

A FIFA international referee since 2003, Thomson has officiated in the Scottish Premier League for over 10 years, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Euro 2012, and 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification. He is also on the open list of prospective referees and assistant referees for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.

Derek Rose and Alan Mulvanny, also from Scotland, will be the assistant referees for this match. The fourth official will be Norbert Hauata from Tahiti.
