The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday gave recognition to the candidature of Mr. Tony Nwoye, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the November 16, governorship election in Anambra State.
It will be recalled that the Supreme Court had, on Monday, upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed the candidacy of Nwoye, in an appeal lodged by Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu.
INEC's recognition was contained in a document released yesterday and entitled: "INEC Info Kit for Anambra Governorship Election (November 16, 2013)."
The commission listed Nwoye among 22 other governorship candidates.
