Post by: Mirror on Nov 10, 2013, 07:31 AM
When the seeding separated Cup holders, Skye Bank and record title chasing rivals, UBA, close watchers of the Nigeria Bankers Games had an inkling that tomorrow 's epic final was going to be a possibility.

While Skye Bank enjoyed a superlative opening game trashing Mainstreet Bank 7-1, UBA also responded with a perfect start winning 3-0 against Sterling Bank with Seun Mohammed nicking a hat-trick and going on to stay as the leading scorer with seven going into the finals. Any one of the two that wins will be setting a new record title win in the football event as they are both tied on four wins going into the final.

While all eyes will be on the football final event, Sterling Bank will be celebrating their overall leadership on the medals' table having finished with seven gold medals, a silver and a bronze respectively. Sterling Bank displaced perennial table toppers, Fidelity Bank, to second place as they ended with five gold, six silver and nine bronze medals.

Razack Aseyemi Adeola, the CEO of Sterling Bank will be on hand tomorrow at the Onikan Waterfront Stadium to receive the prestigious plaque for overall winners, a platform enjoyed over the years by Chief Reginald Ihejiani of Fidelity Bank.

The finals will be preceded by a novelty match between Hall of Fame recipients and the 2013 All Stars squad selected from all the teams that participated in the tournament.
