Korean Ambassador Embarks on Business Trip to Calabar
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, His Excellency Ambassador Choi Jong Hyun, recently led a delegation of Korean Businessmen to Calabar, Cross River State, on a scoping visit with the possibility of investing in the State.
Reflecting on the visit, Barrister Paul Ishabor, Manager, Investment Promotion pointed out that three Korean companies participated in the visit which were Samsung Heavy Industry, Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company, and Samsung Electronics.
According to Ishabor, Samsung Heavy industry which is into sea plants is interested in deep sea or sea plant opportunities while Daewoo engineering & Construction Company is into engineering, procurement, construction of plant facilities with further interest in oil, gas and power. Samsung electronics, he add is an expert in home appliances and electronics with interest in promoting sales of Samsung products in the State.
Ishabor revealed that, the team held business meetings with the Manufacturers Association, Calabar Chamber of Commerce Industries Mines and Agriculture, as well as, companies at the Free Trade Zone.
The Manager posited that the team, which also toured both the Tinapa Resort and Calabar Free Trade Zone, were impressed with the environment and opportunities on ground.
The team on arrival, was welcomed at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar by the Special Adviser, Investment Promotion Mr. Gerald Ada and later paid a courtesy visit on the Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke.
Cross River State is a beautiful state so the Korean ambassardor is in for pretty sight seeing if that is the case
