The Lagos State Governors Office Correspondents, (LAGOCO) defeated defeated their House of Assembly counterparts 2-1 in a match played at the Agidingbi Grammar School Ikeja.
Captain of the Governor's Office Press, Taiwo Olapade, opened scoring in the seventh minute with a powerful shot outside the box while Yussuf Owonla made it two for Fashola's boys in the 21st minute.
Ikuforiji Bombers halved the score seven minutes later was scored by their playmaker Pelumi Ganiyu, who missed opportunity to level late in the game as he fluffed a penalty. Ganiu, however, emerged as Man of the Match while Olapade of Inspiration FM was awarded second best player in the match.
The return leg of the match, which was part of activities lined up for this year's Press Week of the Governor's Office Correspondents, will hold at the House of Assembly pitch next month.
