Title: Cross River State - Nut Calls-Off Strike

The State Wing of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT has suspended the strike action embarked upon by its members.

The Union Chairman, Comrade NjomNyambi announced the suspension at a meeting of the NUT held in Calabar.

Comrade Nyambi called on all members of the Union to resume their normal duties immediately to pave way for the smooth running of the school system.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Offiong E. Offiong has directed all Principals, Head teachers, Teachers, students and pupils to return to school.

In a press statement, the Commissioner said Principals and Head teachers are to take into consideration the three-days lost to the strike and ensure that classes resume immediately so that the syllabus will be effectively covered in preparation for the forthcoming state – conduct and internal examinations.

Let's hope ASUU strike will be called off as soon as the new comes too. That just has to happen.
