Ekigho Ehiosun says this week's international friendly encounter between the Super Eagles and the Azurris of Italy will serve as a true test of Nigeria's ability to compete against the rest of the World in next year's World Cup in Brazil.

The game comes two days after the African Champions secured their passage to the Mundial following a 4-1 aggregate win against the Walya Ibex of Ethiopia.

Though the World Cup is still seven months away, Nigeria and Italy are using the tie to perfect strategies ahead of the finals.

And Ehiosun who plays for Turkish side, Samsunspor, believes a positive outing in the game will no doubt boost the side's confidence ahead of the competition.

"The Italy game will no doubt bring out the best in the Super Eagles," he began.

"Though it is not a competitive game,but a game against a strong team like Italy who are former world champions will certainly show how ready we are to face the rest of the world.

"I expect us to do well as a good result in the game will help boost the confidence of the players," remarked the former Warri Wolves forward.
