A letter from the Army Headquarters, Abuja to His Excellency, Senator Liyel Imoke, Governor of Cross River State, dated June, 7th 2013, conveyed the commencement of the 70 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI), 2013 exercise of the Nigerian Army.
In the said letter, interested Cross Riverians, who are between 18 and 25 years old, with the requisite academic and trade test qualifications were advised to commence the enlistment by purchasing scratch cards from any Union Bank branch and Unity Bank nearest to them, between June 3rd and July 16, 2013.
The Army authority also conveyed the commencement of recruitment exercise for specialist tradesmen and women as part of the 70 Regular Recruitment Intake (RRI).
Consequently, interested indigenes of the State, who hold the requisited qualification and have applied for recruitment as tradesmen and women are to note that the Pre-screening Examination (PSE) for specialist tradesmen and women will hold on Saturday, 20th July at the Brigade Headquarters, Akim Barracks, Calabar.
Also, the zonal recruitment, screening of other Regular Intakes that is, non tradesmen and women will commence from Monday the 22nd to 31st July, 2013.
The letter added that candidates who applied under the specialist tradesmen and women's category and have passed the Pre-screening Examination (PSE) are expected to appear for their zonal screening from Monday, July 29 – Friday, August 2nd 2013 at the same screening venue.
The letter further maintained that candidates, whether under the specialist tradesmen and women's category or not are to also note that each person must be physically and medically fit, must undergo physical and medical examination before final selection, must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years by July 22, 2013 and artisans must possess any of the following qualifications; vocational trade test or proficiency certificate in the advertised fields.
