Title: Ennis-Hill eyes Glasgow gold
Post by: Mirror on Nov 19, 2013, 11:31 AM
London 2012 star, Jessica Ennis-Hill, has set her sights on a successful Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year after admitting her injury troubles have been a source of frustration.

Ennis-Hill, who was forced to sit out of August's World Championships in Moscow due to a niggling Achilles injury, is not back in full training yet. But all signs point to a complete recovery and the possibility of a full indoor season should the heptathlete's progress carry on in the same manner. Ennis-Hill has not enjoyed sitting on the sidelines for so long but with the finishing line in sight, she insists her main goal for 2014 is the first Commonwealth Games gold of her career.

"The Commonwealths are definitely something we're targeting," she said. "It's the main competition of the summer next year so we're definitely targeting that.

"It's very frustrating when you can't do your job and what you do on a dayto- day basis, not being able to train like I normally do and prepare the way I would like to "You always worry and you never quite know how long the recovery is going to take.

It's part of sport, you pick up injuries and they come whenever they decide so you've just got to take it as it comes and move on. "I really want to do an indoor season but it's still a question of seeing how the next few weeks go and if I can be ready to really be competitive by then."
