In a condolence speech, the Head of Service, Ntunkae (Mrs.) Mary-Theresa Ikwen, mni, described as unfortunate, the sudden death of Mrs. Florence Edem Offiong, who departed this world at the prime age of 27 years.
Ntunkae (Mrs.) Ikwen noted that the demise of late Mrs. Offiong was worrisome and painful, not only to her mother and other family members but also to the entire members, of the Constituency One Forum in particular and the State in general.
The Head of Service, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office (PSO), Dr. Chris Odu Agbor, mni, urged the bereaved family to be consoled by the fact that at her tender age, the deceased contributed her quota towards service delivery and also devoted herself to the service of God as a Christian.
Ntunkae (Mrs.) Ikwen urged the bereaved family to be strong and have faith in God, pointing out that, "it is the Lord that giveth and is He that taketh" and therefore prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased a happy repose in His heavenly kingdom.
Responding, the Mother of the deceased, Dr. (Mrs.) Anthonia Bassey Monkom, thanked her colleagues for the show of concern, which she said had strengthened her at her moment of grief.
