Post by: Mirror on Nov 21, 2013, 09:31 AM
Guinness Nigeria Plc has launched brand new sponsorship plans for the Brazil 2014 World Cup-bound team. Managing Director/Chief Executive of the company, Mr. Seni Adetu, said in Calabar that a campaign code-named Wild Eagle Club Campaign would see the company getting 35 million fans involved in flying Nigeria's flag in the South American nation.

"We also plan to launch a comprehensive video of the Eagles' activities since their partnership with the team's brand as well as the documented qualifying games leading up to Brazil 2014 World Cup," Adetu said.

Marketing and Innovation Director, Austin Ufomba, explained that the partnership would foster innovation never witnessed in such arrangement.

"The massive mileage we achieved with the first campaign we did with Eagles code-named "Fly with the Eagles" inspired us to re-launch again as part of the new relationship with the Eagles," Ufomba said.

"We are planning to double the success with the campaign with the Eagles getting set for the World Cup.

We will as usual take fans along to watch and support the Super Eagles in Brazil.

"The campaign will also be a nationwide affair where millions of fans in Nigeria will be targeted."

Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, was also unveiled as the Ambassador of the Wild Eagles campaign as well as the ambassador of another campaign, Water for Life Campaign.

"Emenike will be on the road with the Guinness campaign team, speaking to the fans and urging them to come out in their large numbers to support the Super Eagles as they get set for World Cup," the marketing director added.

"We also plan to organise an international friendly with a top country sometimes next year as part of the preparation for the World Cup.

We will reveal the country when the time is right," he stressed.
