ICOS – Irish Council for International Students offers fellowship programme for students of South Africa or Zimbabwe in Ireland. Applicants should be legally resident in South Africa. Scholarships are provided in strategically-important disciplines including finance, business, engineering, sustainable technologies and public health and nutrition. Scholarships are available for pursuing Masters or Postgraduate Diploma level studies in Ireland. Applicants will hear the outcome by 30th April 2014. Eight annual awards are offered.  The application deadline is 17th February 2014.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided for postgraduate studies in Business Management; Agriculture, Food Science & nutrition and Public Administration and and a fellowship in Human Rights Law.Scholarships are provided in strategically-important disciplines including finance, business, engineering, sustainable technologies and public health and nutrition

Eligibility: To apply for this scholarship through the Canon Collins Trust you must:

-be a national of South Africa or Zimbabwe

-legally resident in South Africa

-be in possession of a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or about to graduate in the year of application.

-be applying for a full-time one-year master's degree in one of the eligible courses at an approved Irish university

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of South Africa and Zimbabwe can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: This fellowship was set up in 2012 in honour of the late Professor Kader Asmal, who taught law at Trinity College Dublin for 27 years, specialising in human rights, labour, and international law. He co-founded the Irish Anti-Apartheid Movement in 1963 and served as Chair until his return to South Africa in 1990. He was part of the ANC team that negotiated the transition to democracy. In 1994, he became Minister for Water Affairs and Forestry in the first ANC Government after the advent of democracy and served as Minister for Education from 1999 to 2004. He died in June 2011.

What does it cover? The Kader Asmal Fellowships will  cover:

-university application fees

-tuition fees;

-examination and other fees

-economy travel to and from your country of residence to Ireland;

-settling in allowance, book allowance and study allowance

-accommodation;

-a monthly personal living allowance (stipend) to cover other living expense for you only and

-the costs of an entry clearance (student visitor visa) application
