Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe has promised more goals to come after opening his West Brom account against Manchester City Wednesday night.

Signed from Everton for £6million on transfer deadline day, the 25-year-old Nigerian helped his new side worry City late on as they produced a fightback from 3-0 down to 3-2.

Anichebe scored after replacing Shane Long during the second half but hopes to start when the Baggies face struggling Norwich at the weekend. He said: 'I'm delighted to score but it's difficult to take because we've lost the game.

Anichebe's failure to find the net has meant the 25- year-old has not started a game since a 4-1 defeat at Liverpool on October 26.

The Nigeria international, however, is relaxed about his opportunities as he continues to settle in at his new club.

"Longy (Shane Long) has played really well, so has Sess (Stephane Sessegnon). He scored some great goals against Villa and Chelsea," said Anichebe.
Well his club will like that so let him try as much as possible to continue with his goalscoring form.
