A development consultant, Dr Clinton Omezi, on Saturday said Nigerians should use the nation's centenary celebration to reflect on issues critical to development such as transparency and accountability.
.
Omezi made the disclosure in Abuja at the launch of a book titled "Celebrating Nigeria's Centenary from 1914 to 2014, written by Mr Emeka Obienyi.
.
He said "in celebrating Nigeria at 100 years, we should consider the journey so far in terms of good governance."
.
"Governance is basically the set of policies, roles, responsibilities and processes that a country establishes to guide and control how its resources and technologies are used to accomplish national goals and objectives.
.
"Good governance, however, accomplishes this in a manner essentially free of abuse and corruption and with regard for the rule of law."
For now, we're not seeing Good Governance in Nigeria at all.
Let's hope we see that at last.
