Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen says Dimitar Berbatov is committed to the club, despite doubts about the striker's future at Craven Cottage.
.
Berbatov's agent said the 32-year-old wants to leave the Cottagers in January but the forward inspired his team to a 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.
.
"I had a good chat with him, he's not a stranger to me," said Meulensteen.
.
"We know what games we have coming up all the way to January, and he's fully committed to Fulham."
.
Berbatov was an influential presence in the 2-1 defeat by Tottenham on Wednesday and the win over Villa in Meulensteen's two games since succeeding Martin Jol as Fulham boss.
.
The Bulgarian set up Steve Sidwell for the opener before slotting in a penalty after a foul on Alexander Kacaniklic.
.
"He makes a difference," said Meulensteen. "I thought he was excellent on Wednesday as well, and against Villa again you saw what he was capable of doing,"
I heard Arsenal want to buy him in January. That would be a good move for the Bulgarian. Very dope stricker
Commitment is always what EPL players need to succeed. Berbatov has always shown that day in day out.
