El-Kanemi defender, Reuben Ogbonnaya, is excited with his invitation to the Super Eagles ahead of the 2014 Chan in South Africa.
.
Ogbonnaya, who made his debut in the top flight with the Maiduguri side, was consistent in the defence as the club finished fourth on the 20-team log.
.
"I have been praying for the invitation because of my performance for El-Kanemi Warriors last term.
.
"It didn't come as a surprise to me because it's a confirmation of my performance at El-Kanemi," Ogbonnaya said.
.
Interestingly, former El-Kanemi gaffer, Kelechi Emeteole, gave Ogbonnaya his career break in the lower division after Heartland failed to offer him a contract.
.
"I was at Heartland for trials but couldn't get a deal then my friend Ikechukwu Ibenegbu introduced me to Emeteole when El-Kanemi was in the lower division," Ogbonnaya said to supersport.com.
Getting Eagles invitation is something that could be called an achievement for these players.
