Job Outline: Reporting to the Materials/Order Management Leader, this person is accountable for the alignment of materials supply to best meet our customer needs and business plans
Key Responsibilities:
• Day to day buying activities to make material available in line with order board / projected demand profiles, expedite timely where required
• Issue schedules and forecast to suppliers and the placement of firm Purchase Orders based on MRP demand and other recognized
• demands
• Support the group in rapid resolution of purchased materials shortages/issues.
• Ensure data integrity of business system – particularly due dates on Purchase orders
• Timely resolution of planning issues (eg NCMRs, invoice queries, PPV variance, MRNs)
• Optimize inventory levels for all planned commodites and ensure continous improvements of turns and reduction of E&O
• Where required liaise with Change control, Engineering, Global supply, VPI, following set processes and disciples
• Create supplier relationships at the highest level ensuring key performance metrics are met.
• Effective and clearly communication both ways within Materials and to other stakeholders regarding material planning issues.
• On request create management reports, analyse issues and present results.
• Gather data for performance measures
• Deputise for Materials Leader when required.
• Carry out any reasonable management requests.
• Support continuous improvement activities, including 6 sigma
Required Skills & Experience:
• Relevant work experience in a materials planning environment
• In depth knowledge & experience of MRP based tools within an ERP environment
• Demonstrated planning skills within a manufacturing environment
• In depth knowledge of the power generation business
• High level understanding of business processes
Qualifications:
• Relevant education/training essential
• Educated to degree level in business or supply preferred.
• Planning experience, preferably in manufacturing environment using MRPII/ERP systems
