Department Description: The Global Consulting Project Management Office (GCPMO) was launched by Mark Hurd on February 1st, 2012 to globally support the growing importance of delivering our consulting services consistently and to the highest standards while increasing overall profitability; improving the market perception of our project management capability; and augmenting our value proposition to prospects and clients.  As a result, the Global Consulting Project Management Office (GCPMO) is responsible for providing standardized, repeatable and scalable Project and Portfolio Management for all divisions and Global Business Units (GBU's) to enable delivery excellence and improve global project management competency to realize cost savings and profit gains.

Brief Description: This senior director position is responsible for an increasingly diverse portfolio based upon complexity of the customers, solutions, and dollar value of the portfolio. Directs business operations and resources of a given portfolio, which can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsibilities include people management, project oversight, and sales enablement.

Detailed Description: Accountable for fulfilling business goals, meeting budgets, maintaining project/portfolio profitability while ensuring quality of project delivery and customer referenceability. Responsible for creating operational policies in support of strategic objectives. Oversees solutioning and estimates in support of the sales process. Responsible for cultivating Oracle cross-functional communications through the creation and maintenance of strategic relationships with management in other lines of business including Product Development, Product Marketing, Support, Consulting Sales, and License Sales. Interacts with executive levels both internally and externally regarding matters that influence policies and strategies. Assesses and manages business risks in pursuit of overall business goals. Is accountable for managing a substantive and profitable revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages multiple project/program managers and/or senior level individual contributors.

Job Requirements: 12+ years of experience relevant to this position, including 3 years of project management experience. Second-level management experience preferred; proficient at managing managers and large team. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects of increasing complexity with commensurate professional sophistication. Comfortable working in matrix management environment. Strong influencing/negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

Role description:

•   Provide vision, leadership and drive to deliver Group KPIs and MBOs

•   Intervention and support of troubled projects including hands-on delivery as needed

•   Ensuring a framework to promote and deliver continuous improvement in the deployment of the Oracle Method

•   Providing a single focal point for the new, Emerging Methods

•   Deliver high quality programs and services globally for all GCPMO and Global Methods
