Oracle Retail is seeking to recruit a Senior Principal Application/Technical Consultant to join their EMEA Merchandise Planning & Optimisation team, working with the highly configurable, multi-dimensional, Retail Predictive Application Server (RPAS) platform. The Senior Principal Application Consultant applies retail business process knowledge combined with functional and technical expertise of the Oracle Retail Planning & Optimisation applications to design and implement retail planning solutions. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their exceptional aptitude to understand and construct customised RPAS solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Playing a lead role in solutions definition and contributing to the scoping of bids
• Working with the relevant bid teams to describe Oracle's approach, potential task estimates and plans
• Contributing as required to the generation of proposals ensuring they reflect the capability of the practice(s)
• Working with the client to understand data requirements, functionality and business processes
• Designing, developing and documenting solutions that meets client needs and delivers benefits
• Presenting solutions and approaches to the relevant clients
• Contributing to project planning and project management as required
• Following the Project Plan for the designated deliverables
• Escalating client issues to the relevant contact in Oracle
• Working with an account team to discover and exploit opportunities for cross and up selling
• Reviewing invitations to tender and advising as required
• Proposing the most effective use of Oracle's implementation methodologies
• Representing Oracle at internal and external events as required e.g. special interest groups
• Providing recommendations for improvements in Oracle's products, services and processes
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in the implementation of Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server or other merchandise planning solutions
• Functional and Technical knowledge across multiple Oracle Retail Planning & Optimisation applications, from: Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning, Item Planning, Category Management, Demand Forecasting, Advanced Inventory Planning, Retail Price Optimisation, Size Profile Optimisation, Mark Down Optimisation, Merchandise Space Planning
• Experience with assisting in functional requirements definition and solution design
• Experience with translating business requirements to solution design and technical implementation
• Previous consulting or participation in large-scale integration projects preferred.
• Experience working with a large systems integrator preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel
• Strong inter-personal skills (developing trusted relationships, team-working, sharing ideas and knowledge)
• Ability to identify and proactively solve problems

• May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
• Effectively consults with management of customer organizations.
• Participates in business development activities.
• Ensure that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved by focusing on best practices and process improvements.
• Responsible for operational metrics and overall business results for area of responsibility. Provides coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members.
• Typically manages individual contributors.
• Demonstrates multiple business process expertise within one product family or technology solutions architect and design expertise for one technology product and understand cross stack impacts.
Job Requirements:
• 6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience and 1 year of engagement/team leadership experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
