Former Super Eagles winger Tijani Babangida is of the opinion that the players in the Nigeria Premier League can excel at the CAF African Nations Championship scheduled to hold in South Africa next year, I can report.

Speaking through a social media, the Taraba FC United boss who ensured the club earned a promotion ticket to the elite division at the close of last season said the country is well blessed with players who can go all the way to play in the final of the tournament designed for players plying their trades on African soil.

"Well, I strongly believe that Nigeria is blessed with quality talents and that has given me confidence that this team if well packaged will excel in the CHAN tournament in South Africa. I know some of these players personally and I know what they can do when it comes to a big occasion like that", says the ex-Ajax Amsterdam of Holland star.

"This is our first time of featuring in the tournament and we need to go there and prove what we can do because our league is rated as one of the best in Africa and if we have the bulk of these players in the league, then we should be expecting the team to go as far as playing in the final at the tournament.

The Home Eagles who are presently at the Bolton White Apartment camp in Abuja preparing for the CAF tournament will play host nation, South Africa, Mali and Mozambique in the first round of CHAN and much are expected from the Nigerians despite the fact that they are featuring in the tournament for the first time.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi is yet to name his squad for the tournament as players are sweating it out for shirts in Abuja.
If they prepare well before the competition, then anything is possible.
If they are already in the EPL then how can they still qualified to be for CHAN?
