Former Nigeria international, Richard Owubokiri believes with adequate planning and preparation, the Super Eagles stand a better chance of qualifying for the next round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Owubokiri who emerged second on the top scorers chat in Europe in 1991 banging in 30 goals for Portuguese side Boavista said exclusively from his base in Brazil that with the continuity and talent at the coach's disposal, they should finish second behind group favorites Argentina.

"We should qualify from that group but of course it depends on how well we approach the tournament," the former footballer turn football agent told said.

"We will be a force to reckon with if we do all these. If we plan properly and organise ourselves well for the tournament," he added.

Ricky as he's fondly called by his admirers further revealed that Nigeria has no reputation going into the mundial and must perform at optimal level to become a force in world football.

"Nobody reckons with Nigeria again in Brazil after the Atlanta 1996 Olympic triumph,"

"We have to reclaim that with a good performance in Brazil next year if we want to reclaim our reputation back," he posited.

Owubokiri who retired in 1996 at the age of 36 further called on the Nigerian Football Federation to settle amicably all outstanding salaries owed the entire coaching staffs and agree on a fee for the players to avoid unnecessary embarrassment at the mundial.
