Location: Primarily based in Abuja, Nigeria, with frequent trips to London and likely travel within the region depending on work requirements.

About the Infrastructure and Climate Change Practice
• 21 years' experience at the leading edge of infrastructure reform with a more recent focus on climate change, regional integration and transport corridors.
• Numerous international project management awards, such as the most recent 2011/12 British Expertise Development Project of the Year for our work on NIAF.
• Focus on policy, strategy, regulation, financing (private sector participation and public-private partnership) and utility reform in energy, water and sanitation, transport, telecommunications, urban development and climate change.
About The Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (NIAF)
• DFID's largest technical assistance project worldwide and winner of several international awards;
• Worked closely with the Nigerian government since 2007 to tackle the country's chronic infrastructure deficit, with a focus on private sector involvement. Typical interventions include strategic planning, attracting investment, project screening, and institutional reform;
• An excellent team of four other resident managers;
• One of three ASI projects based in Abuja.
About the Role
The Power Programme Manager on NIAF is responsible for:
• Overall management of £10m pa programme of support to the Nigerian government on one the most ambitious power sector reform process in Africa;
• Managing a team of up to 80 international and local consultants.
• Deciding how, what and where support can be provided to achieve maximum impact within constraints of highly political and challenging environment.
• Overseeing relationships with Nigerian government clients and DFID
• Designing and negotiating 6 monthly performance targets for the Power work stream.
Preparing and presenting achievements and results.
As a Senior Manager this will be combined with opportunities to develop and win other exciting new projects across Africa and Asia.

• Experience in building and leading effective teams;

• Experience of winning and developing projects.
