Arjen Robben has commented that Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or, ahead of his Bayern teammate Franck Ribery.

Ribery and Ronaldo are alongside Lionel Messi as finalists for this year's award, with the Portuguese seen as edging ahead in voting.

Ribery, however, seems to be unable to count on the support of one in his dressing room.

"Cristiano Ronaldo deserves it," Robben has told Voetbal International this week.

"It is an individual award and I would give it to him.

"Myself? I have never thought of the award despite being nominated. It is always the same three finalists, Ronaldo, Messi and another. And this time, justifiably, it is Ribery."
Ronaldo deserves the award hands down but FIFA might give it to Ribery
I would have expected Robben to back Ribery, his fellow club player. Maybe Ronaldo might end up winning it.
