Title: Stoke Target Former Manchester United Striker
Post by: Folami David on Dec 21, 2013, 03:44 PM
Stoke City are eyeing a January move for former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf, who could be available for as little as £2 million.
.
The ex United forward has just six months remaining on his contract with German outfit Hannover 96, with Mark Hughes hoping he can tempt the Bundesliga outfit to part with him for a cut-down price in the New Year.
.
The 26-year-old from Senegal struggled during his time in the Premier League where he failed to make an impact at Old Trafford, however has flourished since his move to the Bundesliga where he has a ratio of almost a goal every two games.
.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes is thought to have been close to bringing the striker to the Britannia Stadium back in the summer, only for the move to break down over a few minor details.
.
But the Welshman will be hoping for better luck in January, with the club prepared to offload Peter Crouch as they look to reduce their wage budget to fund the move.
