Nigeria striker, Gambo Muhammad, is fancying his country's chances of going the whole stretch at the 2014 African Nations Championship (Chan) in South Africa.

The Kano Pillars forward is confident that the Super Eagles can ape their counterparts who won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa against all odds.

"It is going to be a very tough competition in South Africa but we are ready to work hard and make sure Nigeria do well there and even go very far in the competition. This year the Super Eagles won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa even no one gave them the chance to do so.

"Now it's our turn to do same. It is our first time in the (Chan) competition and being first-timers we are not the favourites (on paper) but that does not mean our opponents won't show us respect. All the teams taking part in the competition are all capable of winning it and that's why we have to show respect to our opponents," Gambo told supersport.com on the eve of Christmas.

Gambo also spoke on Nigeria's group stage opponents, South Africa, Mali and Mozambique.
They are capable of doing well in that tournament. They need goals though to prove themeselves.
CHAN is a competition Nigeria must win to complete what the Super Eagles have started.
