Nigeria 'B' team will leave for CHAN in South Africa on January 7, officials have announced.

The team have been training in Abuja for the past three weeks and have engaged several local clubs in test matches before their debut at the Championship of African Nations.

They are due to play two matches against a Port Harcourt Selected and league champions Kano Pillars before their departure.

Several full internationals like skipper and goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Solomon Kwambe, Benjamin Francis and Sunday Mba are expected to make the final 23-man squad to South Africa. Coach of the main national team, Stephen Keshi, will also lead the team.

Their opening Group A match will be against Mali on January 11 in Cape Town.
