Propcom Mai-karfi is a six year Department for International Development (DFID) funded programme which has as its aim sustained increases in incomes of poor women and men engaged in selected rural markets in Northern Nigeria. The purpose of the project is 'Increased employment and improved productivity in selected agricultural market systems in Northern Nigeria'.
GRM International is currently hiring two drivers, one to be based in Abuja and the other in Gombe, who under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager and the Regional Field Coordinator will be responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services to project personnel. He/she will also be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the project team, including in the office and in every-day programme and project work as well as during events, such as workshops, meetings, conferences, seminars, and training activities.
You will demonstrate:
• Secondary Education or higher;
• Valid driving licence;
• A minimum of five (5) years' work experience as a driver;
• Sound knowledge of the Federal Republic's highway driving requirements;
• Good written and spoken English;
• Skills in carrying out minor vehicle repairs (desirable);
• Evidence of attendance at defensive driving course (desirable);
• Knowledge of a northern Nigeria language (preferably Hausa) (essential);
• Those who have attended defensive driving and vehicle handling training will be given preference.
