Two candidates who sat for the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), were on Wednesday, arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate's court in Osun state, over alleged examination malpractices.
According to reports, the affected students, Onabanjo Bosede (27) and Adebayo Adekunle (17), were caught by men of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Osun State police command at one of the centres at Okuku, headquarters of Odo-Otin Local Government Area, at about 12.45 p.m., while attempting to cheat during the examination.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Benjamin Akindoyin, told the court that Bosede and Adekunle conspired together to perpetrate examination malpractice during the UTME examination.
He further said, the accused candidates were unlawfully in possession of one copy of answer sheet with intent to cheat during the examination.
