Job description:
• Candidate will exhibit self-motivation, attention to detail, organization, financial based analytical skills, strong communication skills, and a customer service attitude.
• Candidate shall be responsible for advanced level technical work in Lagos metro region in functional areas of project administration and management.
• Candidate will manage construction activities on projects such as apartment buildings, estates, water/sewer main installations, and bridge, or roadway construction projects.
• Candidate will inspect and supervise lower level inspectors performing routine to moderately complex inspections and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract and other applicable guidelines.
• Work includes site visits and monitoring traffic control and erosion control on the project.
• Work also includes monitoring construction costs; negotiating prices for contract modifications with contractors; writing or supervising the preparation of reports and correspondence; and working and communicating with contractors, supervisors, subordinates, local officials, media and the general public.
Desired Skills and Experience: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of specifications and standards, acceptable construction practices, materials, methods and equipment used in high rise,roadway resurfacing and bridge, or roadway construction projects construction and engineering. Thorough knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric calculations related to water, sewer, site development and roadwayengineering. Ability to read and comprehend construction plans and all other documents associated with the project.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Graduation from a university with a degree in civil engineering or from a four-year college with a degree in civil engineering technology and five (5) years of progressive construction management experience as an employee or consultant for a government agency or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
