Title: EKSU VC Cries Out For Improved Funding And Modernization Of Infrastructure

The Vice-Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Prof. Patrick Oladipo Aina has added his name to the growing list of tertiary education Stakeholders to canvass for improvement in funding and modernization of Nigerian Universities.

Professor Aina while answering questions from the punch Newspaper correspondent Motunrayo Joel said funding forms an important component to achieve a first class states for Nigerian Universities as well as improve the products of these universities or institutions.

Professor Aina begged Universities across the nation to explore new frontiers to increase their IGR and diversify their funding base to become more financially buoyant without compromising the much cherished University tradition.

The EKSU Vice-Chancellor also called for increased private sector partnerships across various initiatives to leverage on expertise and relationships.

He mentioned the success of the Public Private Partnership entered into by EKSU and some construction companies to build students hostels and make the University residential starting from 2014.
