Post by: femifemzy3 on Jan 16, 2014, 02:36 AM
It became evidently known that Obafemi Awolowo University is surely one of the leading universities we have ruling Africa based on the level of achievement by the OAU's current and past students in the last global evaluation process by a German organization for a life-changing event in Germany.
.
This remarkable occurrence that just form part of the OAU history began in August when the German organization—Organisations forum Wirtschaftskongress OFW—in charge of World Business Dialogue chose 3 Africans to be representing her interest in Africa. Among these 3 is a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Matthew Olaide Adetunji, chosen as an Ambassador, promoting the forthcoming 17th World Business Dialogue event—where Leaders of today (CEOs, Founders, Executives and Pundits from different fields) meet with Leaders of tomorrow (Best 300 International Students).
.
Matthew Adetunji and his quest for development in Africa aggrandized in his assumed role with OFW when he began to motivate, mentor and mastermind university students from West and Southern Africa towards the success of 17th World Business Dialogue (WBD) in Germany. His efforts and passion for development of other students by promoting WBD, and as a founder of a youth led-organization, flock together with other 29 OFW-Ambassadors' ambitions across world regions, which created masses of students in the world applying for the event.
.
The result of this came out when OFW team released the list of 300 delegates considered best for the 17th World Business Dialogue. After the evaluation of their Curriculum Vitae and innovation approach, only 27 students were considered fit from Africa out of 300 selected as delegates for this special event in the world.
.
According to the Ambassador, Mr. Matthew Adetunji, he said; "12 Nigerians, 3 Ghanaians and 2 South Africans made the list from my region, while the other 10 are from Northern and Eastern part of Africa".
.
The glory detail that calls for encomium is that 12 Nigerians are part of this strict list from Africa, and among these 12 are 7 OAU students. This analysis shows that OAU produces highest number of qualified students in Africa that could fit in for an international event—that considers proven curriculum vitae and innovative ideas as criteria.
.
These 7 OAU students are Mary Atakpa (Estate Management), Ogunmodede Tomiwa  Allan (Computer Science and Engineering), Babafemi Victor Fawole (Graduate from Mechanical Engineering), Ademola ODUGUWA (Electrical & Electronics Engineering), Adeosun Abayomi (Graduate from Pharmacy), Adewale Samuel Anjorin (Electrical & Electronics Engineering), OLUSEUN ANISERE (Chemical Engineering). Another OAU graduate with a first class honor from Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering make up the list from United Kingdom; known as Sasaenia Oluwabunmi from Cranfield University Mr. Matthew Adetunji added that the World Business Dialogue is a platform that reshapes students and graduates career for an unforgettable and replicable development of themselves and their respective nation. Delegates (students) would be attending dialogue and seminars while some career fair and dialogue projects as well.
.
The 17th World Business Dialogue would be holding between March 12-15, 2014 at University of Cologne in Germany—with its topic emphasizing on disruptive innovations from various perspectives, including artificial intelligence and concept of big data in relation to business models and society. It would also answer questions on: How will the future of work and education look like? How can I prepare my business for the technologies of the future? Can modern technology help to solve the worlds' biggest problems? Delegates are expected to influence their respective communities after this event.
.
The Ambassador hereby calls on The Vice Chancellor, The Senate, The Deans, The OAU Alumni body and other OAU top officials to look out for these outstanding students; to give them necessary supports and engage them for influencing and uplifting the status of this Great Campus again and again!
