Title: Redeemer's University: Be Active Participants In National Development, VC Begs Theatre Critics

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Debo Adeyewa during the weekend charged theatre critics in Nigeria to play more active role in national development by training next generation of theatre scholars and critics.

He said this while speaking at the International Association of Theatre Critics Roundtable held in the University. Professor Debo Adeyewa who was represented by the Dean, College of Humanities, Professor Ahmed Yerima, said that the association must work towards sustaining the glory attained by world renowned Nigerian dramatists and scholars like Late Sola Rotimi, Wole Soyinka, Olu Obafemi, Femi Osofisan and others.

He asserted that the relevance, popularity and place of pride attained for Nigeria by these scholars could be sustained by raising up young generation of people who will take over from them.

Professor Adeyewa canvassed for unity among theatre practitioners in Nigeria in order for them to attain leadership pre-eminence in the continent.

I totally agree with the Unity part because that is very key to anything concerning Nigerian Universities.
