The National Examinations Council (NECO) has introduced the biometric data capturing machine into its examinations to curb malpractices among students and invigilators in all its examinations.
The head of Information Technology of the National Examinations Council, Mr Tayo Odukoya, said in Oshogbo that the Biometric Data Machine was a pilot project in the ongoing May/June 2011 NECO examination, would be done for 60,000 candidates in 300 secondary schools spread across the country.
Odukoya also said that machine would monitor attendance of students at examination halls and curb the excesses of the supervisor of the examination at each centre.
