Title: Ibori's trial: Nigeria Protesters risk deportation from the UK
Post by: emezico on Jun 26, 2011, 03:56 PM
There are indications that Nigerians who wore T-shirts with inscription such as "Free Ibori" and "Deltans want Ibori Back," to witness the trial of former governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori at Southwark Crown Court in London , may be arrested by the British authority, if it is discovered that the protest was illegal.

According to the United Kingdom law, protests in the United Kingdom within the court premises are often given authorisation by the relevant agencies before it could be carried out and any protest that is not authorised by government and those behind it risked arrest and prosecution.

The status of the peo-ple who were present at the Southwark Crown Court, venue of the trial, are now subject of investigations and scrutiny by the authority to ascertain their migration status, while those who are residents in the country illegally risk deportation in line with United Kingdom immigration laws.

The security agencies are said to be reviewing the CCTV recording of those who wore the pro Ibori T-shirts in the court for accurate facial identification.

l think those Nigerians who protested at Ibori's trial in London, at under a spell. If not, l see no reason why patriotic citizens would protest for the release of a man, who by every standard and obvious means, looted from the treasury of Delta state.

During his tenure as the Governor of Delta state, indignes where suffering on a large scale.

l wonder when Deltan/Nigerians would wake up from their slumber.
