Role Summary/Purpose: Summary: The dual role of Hub Leader for indirect sourcing and commodity leader -Automotive, needs to demonstrate leadership qualities, in communicating business goals, programs and process with different stakeholders within GE. In this role you will use your experience and expertise to understand, develop and implement strategies to support various businesses in the region. Also support the commodity leaders and lead a team of buyers to fulfill all the sourcing activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Role Objectives:

• Systematic assessment of suppliers' assets and capabilities and development and/or sustenance of mechanisms with a view to maximizing this to achieve GE's overall strategic objective

• To identify and maximize cost saving opportunities around assigned commodity/commodities with the objective of reducing spend and increasing profit

• To provide strategic support to in-country sourcing teams, GE employees and Businesses

• To develop, manage and execute the indirect sourcing strategy in Nigeria.

• To identify and maximize cost saving through tactical and strategic sourcing initiatives in support of GE production facilities, sales teams and other GE business sectors

• Hub level supplier and contract, policies, processes and standards performance evaluation and improvement on a local level.

Key Deliverables:

1.Lead the local sourcing team to provide indirect requirements to end-users in the various GE businesses

2.Work to manage hub spend and determine opportunities for cost reduction

3.Advise on local supplier network capabilities, commodity/ spend category trends and industry best practices

4.Assist in establishing sources for new markets, products, services and technologies as local business requirements dictate.

5.Take the lead in developing, communicating and implementing global/regional commodity and sourcing strategies locally to achieve corporate business objectives

6.Develop and implement an efficient system for monitoring buyer's activities – turnaround time, customer service etc.

7.Build strong, value-adding relationships with GCLs, suppliers, internal customers and cross-functional departments

8.Monitor supplier performance against contracted MSAs and SLAs and advise affected GCLs; monitor active/inactive MSAs

9.Monitor sourcing category reporting to identify non-compliant purchases and partner with relevant business units to educate and raise awareness on appropriate, compliant process(es) for purchasing needed goods/services

10.Manage directly or assist in managing sourcing projects

11.Organize trainings for buyers, expeditors and other team members to address skill gaps

12.Work collaboratively and proactively with GCLs and other cross-functional teams to identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities.

Key Deliverables:

Supplier & Commodity Management;

1) Define assigned commodity within the scope of the Sub-Saharan Africa business and GE corporate environment

2) Understand assigned commodity in the areas of availability, practicality, GE consumption pattern and spend history

3) Identify best suppliers (considering cost and quality) for commodity per country or location while maintaining a practical, manageable pool of suppliers

4) Coordinate supplier selection, qualification (due diligence, risk assessment), on-boarding, re-classification and off-boarding

5) Develop and/or maintain an efficient system to track, measure, report and evaluate supplier performance

6) Develop and/or maintain processes, SOPs, and policies for efficient commo

Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualification : Bachelors Degree in Science

Experience: Min 5 years experience in managing a fleet services company and Adminstrative Manager

• Keen understanding of sourcing ERPs, and cost, quantitative and qualitative analysis, contract, time , self and people management principles

• Keen understanding of applicable GE policies, local laws and regulations

• Keen understanding of local markets and GE end-user population

• Effective oral & written communication skills

• A knack for computers, allied systems & hands-on use of any applications/ERP

• Ability to analyze & compile information to make decisions or prepare reports.

• Excellent team leader and player, with good leadership qualities, with a knack for innovation

• Ability to identify & analyze problems, develop alternatives & suggest recommendations or implement resolutions in the day-to-day management of assigned commodity and associated suppliers; crisis management skills.

• Ability to distil high level briefs
