Umaru Musa Yar'adua University Academic Staff Job Vacancies
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
i. PROFESSOR (CONUASS07)
a) Candidates shall posses a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification;
b) Must have a minimum of at least nine (9) years of post qualification teaching, research and other relevant experience or three (3) years teaching and research experience as Reader;
c) Must have a minimum of twenty two (22) publications in reputable journals;
d) Show evidence of good performance in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research, ability for academic leadership, community services and Administrative duties;
e) Be of good character;
f) Candidate shall demonstrate ability to play a major role in the development of academic discipline and ability to initiate and sustain research in the University;
g) Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
ii. READER (CONUASS06)
a) Candidates shall posses a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization;
b) Must have a minimum of at least six (6) years of teaching, research and other relevant experience since the award of the Ph.D or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification;
c) Must have a minimum of twenty (20) publications in reputable journals;
d) Show evidence of good performance in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and capacity for academic leadership community services and Administrative duties;
e) Be of good character;
f) Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
iii. SENIOR LECTURER (CONUASS05)
a) Candidates shall posses a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization;
b) Must have a minimum of at least three (3) years of teaching, research and other relevant experience since the award of the Ph.D;
c) Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in reputable journals;
d) Show evidence of good performance in teaching and research, and be of good character;
e) Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.

iv. LECTURER I (CONUASS04)
a) Candidates shall posses a Ph.D degree or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification or a Masters Degree;
b) Must have a minimum of at least six (6) years of post qualification teaching or other relevant experience appropriate to that level;
c) Must have a minimum of eight (8) publications in reputable journals;
d) Show aptitude for teaching and research and be of good character;
e) Computer literacy is an added advantage.
v. LECTURER II (CONUASS03)
a) Candidates shall posses a Masters degree or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization;
b) Must have a minimum of at least three (3) years of teaching and research and be of good character;
c) Must have a minimum of three (3) publications in reputable journals;
d) Computer literacy is an added advantage.
vii. ASSISTANT LECTURER (CONUASS02)
a) Candidates shall posses a Masters degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization;
b) Holders of first degree from Programmes of five (5) or more years duration shall be eligible for appointment provided they show aptitude for teaching and research as evidenced by publications in peer review journals, and be of good character;
c) Computer literacy is an added advantage.
viii. GRADUATE ASSISTANT (CONUASS01)
a) Candidates shall possess a first degree not less than 2.1 from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization;
b) In exceptional cases, candidates with good 2:2 and of good character may be considered;
c) Computer literacy is an added advantage.
