The Umaru Musa Yar'adua University in Katsina State is currently recruiting for the following non-staff vacancies in the listed faculties and departments:

NON-ACADEMIC STAFF

i. Directorate of Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
ii. Directorate of Consultancy Services
iii. Registry Department

1.0 VACANT POSTS

1.1 DIRECTOR, INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)
(CONTISS15)

1.1.0 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
(i) Administration of the ICT Directorate;
(ii) Provide leadership for the ICT Directorate;
(iii) Advise the University Administration on the appropriate data processing policies;
(iv) Guide on the use and availability of computing facilities for research;
(v) Produce computer operation instructions and manuals;
(vi) Ensure the design and implementation of data processing systems for University Administration;
(vii) Procure and update computer hardware;
(viii) Organize training programmes for computer staff and users;
(ix) Carry out other duties as may be assigned; and
(x) Provide professional and community service.

1.1.1 THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
A candidate shall possess Bachelors degree in Computer Science not below
second class, or other relevant field or equivalent professional qualification
with eighteen (18) years relevant experience, demonstrate extensive
experience in the development and implementation of systems analysis,
programming and data processing, demonstrate ability to organize and lead
the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and be of
good character.

1.2 DIRECTOR, CONSULTANCY SERVICES (CONTISS15)

1.2.0 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
(i) Administration of the Directorate of Consultancy;
(ii) Provide leadership for the Directorate of Consultancy;
(iii) Provide such technical, scientific, professional and other expertise services to all levels of Government, Parastatals, Private Sectors and or International Organizations;
(iv) Contribute to the revenue generation capacity of the University and offer such other avenues for legitimate earnings for both the University and for its staff as may be sanctioned by the University laws and Council;
(v) Create such opportunities for academic staff to undertake projects that have direct relevance and bearing on the immediate community of the University;
(vi) Provide educational training at a sub-degree level to those persons who might not be able to undertake the regular programmes offered by the University; and
(vii) Perform such other functions as may be determined by the Senate and sanctioned by the Council of the University;

1.2.1 THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
A candidate shall possess Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or any other business related discipline not below second class, or a graduate in any other discipline plus Master of Business Administration (MBA) with eighteen (18) years relevant experience, demonstrate extensive experience in investments and demonstrate ability to organize and lead the Directorate of Consultancy and be of good character. Candidate must be computer literate.

1.3 DEPUTY REGISTRAR– CONTISS14

1.3.0 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
(i) Provide leadership in the management of the University;
(ii) Display maturity and good human relations;
(iii) Show initiative and high sense of responsibility;
(iv) Demonstrate ability to use computer;
(v) Interpret and apply the University law and other related laws, rules, regulations and procedures;
(vi) Show ability for effective job planning and implementation;
(vii) Carry out other Administrative duties as may be assigned; and
(viii) Provide professional and community service.

1.3.1 THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
A candidate shall possess a Bachelors degree not below second class and a Masters Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration or Management, with fifteen (15) years of University administrative or other relevant experience in a similar organization, play a major role in the administrative leadership of the University, show evidence of contribution to the University management as well as use and application of computer and be of good character.

1.4 CATERING OFFICER/HOUSE KEEPER – CONTISS 07

1.4.0 JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

(i) Responsible to the Registrar;
(ii) Provide leadership for the University Cooks/Stewards;
(iii) See to the cleanliness and good maintenance of the University Guest Houses;
(iv) Ensure safe custody of kitchen utensils, cutleries, beddings and other appliances in the Guest Houses;
(v) Ensure effective and efficient service delivery to meetings/ occasions;
(vi) Perform any other related duties that the Management may assign from time to time.

1.4.1 THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

A candidate shall possess a National Diploma in Catering and Hotel Management not below lower credit from a recognized institution plus at least six (6) years cognate experience or a holder of HND in relevant field with three (3) years cognate experience and be of good character.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Conditions of service are spelt out in the Umaru Musa Yar'adua University Conditions of Service and Regulations.
