The fear spreading through prospective candidates who wants to write the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB, UTME, that the board will increase the registration fee for the exams next year due to the total introduction of Computer Based Test CBT has been quashed by the exan body.

Mr Fabian Benjamin, who is the Public Relations Officer of JAMB, said that it had no immediate plans to increase the cost of registration forms for its Computer-Based Tests and that parents will be notified first if there is plans to do so.

He said that this year's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination was capital intensive because of the Paper-Pencil and Computer Based Test that were held this year.

The official revealed that thou there was an increase in production cost for this year's exam, the Federal Government assisted in reducing the financial burden on parents and guardians by directing JAMB to reduce the cost of forms from N4, 600 to N4, 000.

He however reiterated the bodies commitment in making the CBT the permanent way of writing the UTME.
