The Kaduna State Government is to spend N2.07 billion for the state-owned university after the fund was approved by the state house of assembly.

This N2.07 billion,governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero said is to be secured from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and would be spent on infrastructure development aimed at improving facilities for conducive teaching, research and learning.

The Kaduna State House of Assembly, at its sitting presided by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Peter Adamu, unanimously approved the request.

Chairman, House Committee on Information, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf, told newsmen after the sitting that the money would greatly help the university to discharge its mandate.

Yusuf said the amount would also cover research farms, library materials and the development of a teaching hospital.
