The Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi branch of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have embarked on an indefinite strike.

The ASUU chairman of ADSU, Mr Molem Ishaku, said that the strike is to protest the sacking of 24 of their colleagues by the school's management.

Ishaku said that the management of ADSU had resorted to victimising lecturers over their involvement in the last ASUU nationwide strike as 24 lecturers were sacked, while five others were queried.

He said that after the union met the management of the university demanding the recall of all the sacked lecturers and the withdrawal of the queries to the other five, only 10 of the sacked lecturers were recalled while queries issued to the others were yet to be vacated by the management.

In his reaction, the ADSU PRO, Mr Delmond Benson, denied the industrial action by ASUU saying it was just a few lecturers that decided to draw the institution backwards while he also said that no lecturer was sacked.

He added that those given queries have not responded to it as the management is currently in talks with the union.
