The ongoing industrial action by the members of College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) has been deemed "unnecessary" by the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin (KwaCoEd) as the lectures in the institution have resumed academic activities.

The COEASU Chairman in Ilorin, Sanni Ahmed, said that they suspended the strike based on the promise of the government to meet their demands, but threatened that the strike would resume if their demands were not met soon.

This suspension also has been attributed to the intervention of stakeholders in the state who parleyed with the Union and promised that government will meet its demands within three weeks.

It will be recalled that protests ware held against the government's failure to meet the demands of the national body for improved welfare of COEASU members and the decayed infrastructure across the colleges in the country.
